Commons is a multilingual site. Kyiv may not be the preferred English name, but it is the preferred Latinized name used by the nation. See Catalunya. Bring this to Commons:Village Pump before you move it again. Cary "Bastique" Bass parler voir 21:55, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is an international project. What is preferred by the nation is less important and by the way unknown since no one polled the Ukrainians on this issue. Please keep the article under the most recognize for the English language reader name. For more, see en:talk:Kiev and archives. --Irpen 00:36, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Moved to Київ for the time being. Commons does not have to match English Wikipedia, we are an international project. I personally believe the home name is the ideal one. Since this has already been moved by several different people, I have protected it from further move. Cary "Bastique" Bass parler voir 17:06, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's the problem? Policy says to use local names and this is cyrillic in this case. So the lemma is correct as it is now, isn't it? --::Slomox:: >< 03:13, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Full ACK. --Raymond de 06:10, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
