Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Deletion of Wikimedia Upload

Hi, best regards. Thanks for your copyright concern. I’d like to note that everything posted on Geni is required to already be in the public domain, and can’t be subject to copyright. Since I got the image from Geni, I am sure it is in the public domain. I even provided the album that I got it from. Therefore, I am appealing your deletion request.

Hi there,

I've read the page you sent and it seems like the policy on Geni is that images must be public domain oder be self-published, and therefore Geni holds the copyright. Whatever applies on Geni might not apply here at Commons. I've also heard that Geni is also a copyright violation. So, the version from 2007 should be kept as the Wikipedia ad? I'm just curious why you deleted the version I uploaded (is it because it was unused in the Module code or I didn't give correct attribution)?
