Context: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

The 327th Star Corps is an elite corps of clone troopers and one of the most active units in the Grand Army of the Republic. They serve within the 2nd Sector Army and Systems Army Alpha. The troops of the 327th Star Corps are distinguished by striped yellow markings running the length of their armor. As a result of Clone Marshal Commander Bly's ARC training, these troops are allowed to don kama's and command pauldrons.


For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

In the page below, items listed in blue are recommended features that will improve the quality of the costume. Items listed in red are intended to further enhance the finished costume.


This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.


  • This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Details on construction may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum.
  • GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.
  • Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized; not criteria for approval.
  • Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.
  • Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. GMLs and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume.


Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.


327th helmet.jpg Helmet
  • Realistic style ROTS Phase II helmet.
  • Helmet is painted matte or satin white.
  • Black eye lens.
  • Helmet mohawk on dome.
  • Helmet has a black brow band, just above the eye lens, that extends around to the back of helmet.
  • A yellow stripe runs vertically up front of helmet starting at chin and widens as it continues on top of dome.
  • Helmet frown is charcoal grey in color.
    • Wire or plastic mesh is utilized inside the helmet to cover the open pieces of the frown.
  • Stripe running up between vocoder and frown is about 1 inch wide.
  • Stripe edges, along center of T lens, are about 3/8 inch wide at bottom and expand to about 5/8 inch near top.
    • Stripe above black band is about 2 1/2 inches wide and extends over top of dome to back side.
    • Stripe at center of dome is about 3/4 inches from edge of mohawk.
    • Stripe stops short of rear dome edge, leaving about a 3/8 inch white border just above the grey indented band.
  • Black aerators with metal or metal-like mesh are mounted inside the two indented front jaw tubes at base of helmet.
  • Ear caps are dark grey with black edging and detail.
  • Nine dark blue vertical hash marks on each side of helmet cheek.
  • Grey indented helmet band around back of dome.
  • Black Indented vertical rectangle area on back with ribbed detail.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Helmet has an enclosed complete neck ring that seals the helmet to the neck.

  • Neck seal is black in color with vertical ribbing or smooth in appearance.
  • No logos or labels are visible.
    • If the seal is not incorporated as part of the undersuit, a balaclava or other similar covering is acceptable.

  • Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos.




NEW 327 Pauldron.jpg Pauldron
  • Realistic Episode III style Pauldron.
  • Mantle is black.
  • Large shoulder plate over the left or right shoulder is colored in burnt sienna.
  • Small shoulder plate and paneling is all black.
  • On the small shoulder plate side of the pauldron, an ammo belt is strung down to the belt.

  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Shoulders are tear drop in shape with all rounded edges.
  • A yellow vertical command stripe is painted on each shoulder.
    • The front edge of the stripe has a slight convex arch.
    • The rear part of the stripe is straight and alights with the center of the shoulder.
    • The shoulders slightly curve back at the bottom.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.




327th upper arms.jpg Upper Arm Armor
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Yellow stripe starts on the hard outside edge of the bicep and extends to the middle of the outside bicep.
  • Two smaller white ammo boxes are attached to the right bicep on a 1 inch grey strap.
    • If the pauldron is covering the right shoulder, this strap goes around the left bicep.
  • Bicep armor has a dimple on the lower area of the back of the arm.
  • The outside of the bicep has a hard line edge at the front that turns in.
  • The inside of the upper arm is rounded.
  • Armor is seamless.
    • No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.

  • Realistic style elbow armor.
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Elbow straps have a raised detail line at the top and bottom of the strap.
  • Armor has two parallel dashed detail slots on each outside edge of elbow at the strap connection.
  • Elbows are mirror images of each other with a notched area on the outside of the elbow above the detail marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.




327 GauntletOptional.jpg Forearm Armor
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • There is a two inch Yellow stripe on the top part of each forearm.
    • The compad on the right forearm remains white.
  • Acceptable options for the left arm include:
    • Yellow stripe only.
    • A second compad.
    • A painted outline of a compad.
  • Both left and right forearms are mirror images of each other.
  • Right forearm has a compad with 8 small buttons,1 Large main button, and 1 slightly smaller rectangular button.
  • Forearm tops have a flattened triangular area with a ridge that comes to a point at the top of the forearm.
  • Compad has detail antenna on its left.
  • Instead of a hard edge the top of the forearm has a bone ridge.
  • Armor is seamless.
    • No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.




Realistic327thHands.jpg Hand Plates
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • A yellow stripe is located on the center of the hand plate.
    • The stripe is approximately 2 inches wide at the wrist and 3 inches wide at the knuckles.
  • Hand plates are mirror images of each other.
  • Hand plates have a top curving ridge that come to a point over the index or middle finger, just past the main knuckle of the hand.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.





Generic-black-gloves.jpg Gloves
  • Black over the wrist gloves made of leather, nylon, or other low pile fabrics.
  • Gloves cover any exposed skin.
  • Gloves do not show any labels or logos when the armor is worn.

  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Two detail slots on right raised chest area.
  • Yellow vertical center stripe, approximately 2 inches wide, extends from neck to lower return curve.
  • Chest and back plate match together at the sides with no open gap.
    • A seam line is present.
  • Shoulder straps are slotted into the detail ridges of the top connection points.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.




Realistic327thChestStrap.jpg Chest Ammo Belt
  • Three white ammo boxes are attached to a grey strap on right side of chest if burnt sienna side of pauldron is over the left shoulder.
    • If burnt sienna side of pauldron is over right shoulder, the strap goes from left side of chest down.
  • The grey strap is 1 1/2 inches wide above the first box, and narrows behind the box to

become 1 inch wide as it continues behind the remaining boxes to the belt.

  • Ammo belt mounts to the top of the pauldron behind the top edge of a plate on the pauldron.




Clone Back Realistic.jpg Back Armor
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Back has a detail plate with four circles on top, two elongated areas on left, and vents on lower right.
  • Back and chest armor match together at the sides with no open gap.
    • A seam line is present.
  • Shoulder straps are slotted into the detail ridges of the top connection points.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.

  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Four 1/4 inch diameter holes per side on indents of abdomen.
    • Eight holes total.
  • Abdomen armor wraps around the wearers body and is sealed at the sides or at the back.
  • Abdomen is completely contained under the chest and back armor.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.
  • Abdomen armor is seamless at the sides and closes in the back.
    • A detail plate covers the seam line and hides all work.




CLone cod and rear.jpg Cod and Posterior Armor
  • Realistic style Codpiece and posterior armor.
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Cod and posterior armor connect at the hips.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Hips have correct detail connector snap and edge feature at the codpiece and posterior side connection.




Realistic327thBelt.jpg Belt
  • Realistic style belt, boxes, and detonator.
  • Belt, boxes and detonator are painted matte or satin white.
  • Belt front, between front boxes, has three vertical rectangle indents which are spaced apart by two protruding rectangle areas.
    • Two front protruding rectangle areas are painted yellow.
    • The rest of the belt is flat surfaced with raised edging on top and bottom that run along the rest of the belt.
  • Eight Belt Boxes are attached to Belt, with four on each side.
    • The two largest Boxes are in front with angled top surface that is higher toward the center.
    • The smallest boxes are located behind the front boxes, about 1/8 inch apart and have an angled end on top.
    • The medium sized matching boxes, with flat top cover, are between 1/8 and 3/4 inch from smallest boxes.
    • Left rear box is spaced closer to detonator and has two square buttons in the top left corner, and two dashed indented detail marks on bottom right.
  • Right rear box is spaced closer to detonator and has a bar with two small cylinders centered, and two dashed indented detail marks on bottom left.
  • A detonator is centered and attached to back of Belt.
    • Detonator tube is about 2 1/4 inch diameter with wider detailed end caps.
    • Seven horizontally aligned square buttons are on left side of tube, facing backwards.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Boxes are notched on back and fit flush to belt.
OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable):
  • Back of belt, between rear boxes, has horizontal ribbing.
  • Detonator has 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide rectangle base, connecting detonator to Belt.




Realistic327thKama.jpg Kama
  • Kama is constructed from a heavy material like canvas or a tight weave burlap.
    • Leather or vinyl is incorrect.
  • Khaki or tea brown color.
  • The Kama is not trimmed with matching color fabric.
  • Kama is mounted at the start of the front belt boxes.
  • Kama extends to the bottom of the knee armor.
  • The rear of the Kama has a split in the bottom center.
  • Khaki or tea brown colored 1/2 to 1 inch wide connector straps are attached to Kama, approximately 6 inches below the belt boxes.
  • Metal clips at the end of the strap have two flat strips that form hook connecting to the command buckle which is centered on the front of the belt.
  • Kama is weathered.




Holsters Realistic.jpg Holsters
  • Holsters are painted satin or matte white.
  • Holsters connect to the belt via straps.
  • Straps are painted matte or satin white.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.

  • Armor is panted matte or satin white.
  • Thigh armor has a flat triangle area above the knee which transitions to a ridge line that travels up the front of the thigh to the top edge.
  • Rear of armor has an indented area.
  • Armor is seamless.
    • No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.

  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Knees have a protruding flat area in front oriented towards the top of Knee.
  • Knees have a yellow stripe that starts at the top and runs vertically down to the bottom of the knee.
  • Knees wrap around the front of the leg.
  • Knees bend around the front and connect to white detail clips that connect the strap on each side.
    • Flat strap has raised 5/8 inch wide grey center strap.
  • Yellow areas are weathered with various scuff marks.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.




Clone shins.jpg Lower Leg Armor
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Lower Legs are mirror images of each other.
  • The front of the armor has a triangular detail at the top of the leg and a hard ridge line down the front of the shin.
  • Back of lower leg armor features arched indentation, just under the calf, that follows down to the ankle.
    • Bottom of this indentation features a smaller arch detail at the heel.
  • Outside of the calf is closed.
    • Calf can have an access area on the inside of the leg.
  • Calves are seamless and have a trap door access through the indent in the rear of the lower leg.




Realistic327thBoots.jpg Boots
  • Red, ankle high or tall enough to cover the ankle and eliminate any black undersuit visible at the ankle.
  • Boots are lace-less.
  • The boots have armor detail to include a natural seam at the toe and a strap that goes over the top of the foot with two protruding disks at each side of the strap.
    • This strap is painted Yellow.
  • Across the shoe, just in front of the detail strap, another thin yellow stripe is present.
  • There are no markings or labels from the shoe makers.
  • Boot soles are flat.
  • Boot soles are colored primer grey.




Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.



CRL side arms.jpg DC-17 Hand Blaster

Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, DC-17 pistols are carried in quick-release holsters. They are widely recognized for their unusually high stopping power and firing rate.

  • The number of pistols carried is dependent on the amount of holsters.
  • This is the realistic variant of the DC-17 blaster.





DC15 carbine.jpg DC-15S Blaster

Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the DC-15S is smaller in scale than the DC-15A blaster rifle. Although it has a shorter range than that of the “A” model, it is easier to handle with a higher rate of fire and features a folding stock for braced firing.

  • Realistic Clone Style DC-15S Blaster.
  • Blaster may be scratch built out of plastic, wood, metal or cast in resin.
  • Blaster has realistic Episode II or Episode III details:
    • Wire frame sight.
    • Folding stock.
    • Twelve radiator fins evenly spaced along the length of barrel.
    • Igniter detail knobs.
    • Charge magazine clip on right side.
  • Total length is approximately 26 inches (66 cm).
  • Because of the scale, the Hasbro version is incorrect.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Charge magazine detail on clip is metal to gun metal grey in color.
  • Detail bolts and screws are metal to gun metal grey in color.
  • Igniter knobs have some copper coloring.
  • Blaster is weathered.
OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable):
  • Functioning Blue LED is installed in barrel.





DC15 rifle.jpg DC-15A Blaster Rifle

Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the DC-15A is a Tibanna gas cartridge powered weapon. Hyper-ionized blue plasma bolts are more than capable of penetrating armored units. Exceptionally effective against both droids and contemporary targets.

  • Realistic Clone Style DC-15A Blaster Rifle.
  • Blaster rifle is scratch built out of plastic, wood, metal or cast in resin.
  • Blaster has realistic Episode II or Episode III details:
    • Flip up sight in down position.
    • Ten radiator fins are evenly spaced along the length of the barrel.
    • Power setting adjuster detail lever.
    • Sniper Scope attached under rifle in storage position.
    • Charge magazine clip on left side.
    • Igniter detail knobs.
  • Total length is approximately 55 inches (139.7 cm).
  • Because of the scale, the Hasbro version is not allowed.


OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Charge magazine detail on clip is metal to gun metal grey in color.
  • Detail bolts and screws are metal to gun metal grey in color.
  • Igniter has some copper coloring.
  • Power setting adjuster detail lever is metal or gun metal grey.
