Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.


Malgus Head.jpg Head and Complexion




Malgus Facemask.jpg Facemask
  • The mask is separated from the neck piece.




Blankwhite.gif Neckseal
  • The Neckseal is a larger dickie style piece which includes the sleeves and neck.
  • The neck piece is slightly stretchy.
  • The neck piece fastens together with a snap and is attached to the chin with hook and loop fastener.
  • Sleeves are made with a light batting with the details sewn down.




Malgus Undersuit.jpg Under Suit
  • Under Suit is made of cloth with a light batting.
  • The various pads are foam in a cloth sheath and are sewn directly to the material.




Malgus Cape.jpg Cloak
  • The Cloak fastenes to the armor at the shoulders.
    • Optional: Additional rare-earth magnets to keep the Cloak in place and closed when necessary.

  • The shoulders are separate from the chest and back armor.

Malgus Gauntlets.jpg Gauntlets
  • Each Gauntlets is made of two pieces that hook together at hinge points.
  • The two octagonal elbow pieces snap to the cloth to hold them in place.
  • Gauntlets have individual red and white lights.

  • Hand Plates snap to the Gloves.




Malgus Gloves.jpg Gloves
  • Black leather tactical style gloves with a specialized seam.




Blankwhite.gif Vest
  • The Vest is grey.
  • The vest section zips up the back and has a set of plastic inserts for the abdominal ridges and the stiffened sleeves.

  • The Chest Armor has individual lights.
  • Armor attaches with hook and loop fastener.

Malgus Shins.jpg Knee and Lower Leg Armor
  • The Knee armor consists of an upper and lower piece.
  • The Knee Armor connects directly to the trousers to keep them in place.
  • The lower knee pieces are similar to the upper knees in their design.
    • But, the lower pieces do not hook to the trousers.
  • All three of these plieces are connected together from the back.
    • A piece of cloth (matching the trousers) is sheathed over a piece of narrow plastic to keep the pieces spaced correctly.
  • Lower Leg Armor is hinged at the sides.
  • Rear of lower leg (Calf) has padding.
    • This padding wraps around the leg from behind and hooks under the front armor piece.




Blankwhite.gif Boot Caps (Foot Armor)
  • The two forward pieces snap directly onto the boots.
  • The rear piece also snaps to the boot and fits over the calf padding.

  • Black leather boots with visible inside and outside ankle zippers.
*A leather piece around the foot with a leather patch on the heel.
  • Optional: Elastic heal panel for added comfort (hidden by heal armor piece).
  • The boots include four grommets on the top section.
    • Two for each armor piece.
    • Four grommets on the back for the heal armor.
  • Layered boot soles.




Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.


SL maul eye.jpeg Sith Eyes
  • The contact lenses are described as a fiery yellow transitioning into a brilliant red.
  • This style of contact lens may be worn, if desired.
    • While encouraged to complete the look of this character, the contact lens requirement will be waived for 501st acceptance, if the applicant cannot wear contact lenses for health related reasons.
    • All persons utilizing contact lenses are encouraged to first see their optometrist for a fitting.
