Huge congratulations to Göktuğ Karakaşlı from our Applied AI team! His paper, ‘NOSBench-101: Towards Reproducible Neural Optimizer Search’, has been accepted for the prestigious AutoML Conference, the third international conference on automated machine learning. 👏 This achievement is the result of an exciting collaboration with renowned professor Frank Hutter and Steven Adriaensen from the University of Freiburg and ELLIS Institute Tübingen. Göktuğ started this project during his Master's and continued to refine it after joining #idealworks. Introducing our 2024 Capstone Unit students! We are excited to announce that our Capstone students for this semester include Sasha Muratidis (Interaction Design), alongside Emily Campling + Michael T. (Industrial Design). Emily and Michael will be collaborating on projects with the idealworks team in Munich. Emily is combining her engineering knowledge in partnership with idealwork team, while Michael will be working on a design for a teleoperation work desk to enable remote operation of autonomous mobile robots. Both are meeting regularly with our idealworks colleagues and presenting their work to them during the semester. Our first ever Interaction Design Capstone student is Sasha Muratidis, who is exploring sound and Augmented Reality experiences within vehicles. She is also in contact with BMW Group staff for feedback and support. We are looking forward to seeing their work this semester - more updates soon!

Very demure, very mindful! ✨ Our Digital Design Lead, Dylan Sheppard, laid the foundation for an ongoing collaboration between BMW Group and QUT (Queensland University of Technology) as a design intern at #BMW Group back in 2016. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the experiences of numerous interns at both the Group and #idealworks, guiding young designers as they navigate the intersection of creativity and technology. Most recently, Kilian Frunz finished a 6-month internship in Dylan’s team, and we’re so proud of his journey!
