memetis, a spin-off of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializes in the production of high-quality microvalves and actuators based on ultra-thin, foil-based shape memory alloys (SMA) for various industries and applications. We offer unique technology that enables us to build ultra-compact and lightweight valves that have very low energy consumption. In addition to our main focus, the development and production of microvalves with foil-based SMA actuators, we develop highly efficient customized miniature actuators that enable high switching forces with better integration capacities and greater flexibility compared to traditional wire-based solutions. In addition, memetis has the expertise to quickly adapt its actuators to market and customer requirements through specific microstructuring processes and specially adapted rapid manufacturing technology. Thanks to our expanded range of applications, our SMA miniature valves and actuators are used in a variety of innovative industries such as biotechnology, medical technology, and even microgravity experiments in space. Neben seinem Studium hat er sich selbstständig umfangreiche Kenntnisse in der Entwicklung von Elektroniksystemen, einschließlich Schaltplankonzepten, Platinenlayout und Embedded-Programmierung, angeeignet. Seine Masterarbeit bei der memetis GmbH, in Kooperation mit dem Institut für Mikrostrukturtechnik, konzentrierte sich auf das Self-sensing von Formgedächtnisaktoren, was ihm wertvolles Know-how für die technische Lösung unseres Haltungstrainers vermittelte. ⚙️ 𝐔𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐤𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐤- 𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐤-𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐮 Marcus bringt seine Expertise in Elektronik und Technik in unser Team ein.     🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 As we continue making product testing easier for our customers, memetis GmbH launches new chip actuator test kits that include practical fluidic adapters. Let us know what you think!! 😊   We offer two types of chip actuators: CA2001 chip actuator: V = 2.4 cm³, P = 3.5N, M = 5g, and a 2mm stroke CA0408 chip actuator: V = 3.2 cm³, P = 8N, M = 8g, and a 9mm stroke that can be controlled   The chip actuators are designed for fluid control on disposable microfluidic chips.     🌟 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁!!! 🌟 Today we present the latest development from InspectT a spin-off from the Universiteit van Amsterdam led by Giulia G.: A microfluidic chip developed at the UvA Technology Centre and Engineering Lab that opens up new possibilities in the evaluation of molecules and particles in a sample. By using a bistable valve developed by memetis, maximum precision and control is achieved while minimising power and space consumption. 🔍 📖 Curious to find out more?     Hello to the memetis GmbH and microfluidics community!! 👋   My name is Joris Landais, I'm an engineering student, and I'm currently doing an internship with the memetis business development team.   Today, I am happy to introduce a small project I am working on. In this project, we designed a microfluidic chip shaped like our logo to demonstrate the ease of use and creation of memetis GmbH components. The setup dispenses colored fluids 🎨 into the chip and changes their colors using our two-valve array and two normally closed valves. We used a pump developed by Bartels Mikrotechnik and a driver developed by memetis GmbH to inject the liquids into the tubes.   This project not only demonstrates the ease of use of our products but also shows their efficiency and ultra-compact size, while at the same time giving me the opportunity to work with our product and the memetis GmbH engineering team.
