Next Generation Biochips.

Info

We are pioneering the next-generation biochip for research, diagnostics, and personalized medicine. Our biochip platform offers ultra-high feature density, modularity, and adaptability to integrate and enhance sequencing, transcriptomics, and proteomics applications. To realize this vision, SPRIND - Germany's Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation funds Nanogami as one of six projects for the next five years.

🧬There is no DNA-Origami without Scaffold DNA.🧬 Chiamaka Belsonia Opara, PhD is one of the Scientists that produce the backbone for our Origami-Designs - single-stranded DNA Scaffolds. Curious about what fuels her passion—and what could lead her to "borrow" our bioreactor? 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼? I am a biotechnology and fermentation scientist at Nanogami. I specialise in biotechnological production of single-stranded DNA scaffolds. I use microorganisms to produce these DNA templates that are essential for creating incredible origami structures. My role involves close collaboration with the Origami team, ensuring that the scaffolds meet the specific needs of diverse DNA origami projects. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯? I enjoy the hands-on experimentation: forming hypotheses, conducting experiments, analysing results and making conclusions. I also love the thrill of discovering something new or solving a specific problem. Seeing a project move from bench research to a full-scale production process is super fulfilling. Plus, getting to work with fascinating microorganisms is a fantastic bonus. It’s such an engaging and deeply satisfying career! 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝗯 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲? I’m all about the bioreactor! What’s so great about them is how flexible they are with different fermentation processes. It’s so fascinating the way they can maintain a controlled environment during fermentation using advanced sensors and automated systems. They can monitor and regulate various factors in real-time, making sure everything is just right for the microorganisms and the final product. I would love to take one home to whip up my own probiotic-packed drinks. Just imagine experimenting with different methods, conditions, and flavours to create unique tastes in drinks like Kombucha, Kefir, and Lassi!

Meet the Team & get to know the brilliant scientists behind our cutting-edge technology. 🔬 First up is Friederike Metze - Surface Scientist for DNA Origami 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗶𝘀. I am a surface scientist at Nanogami, researching different ways of anchoring DNA origami structures to biochips so that they are strong, dense and specifically bound. This work involves not only surface modifications but also a range of characterisation methods and close communication with the other teams, such as the origami team and the microscopy team. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯? Definitely the interdisciplinary work and the close exchange with colleagues from the other teams to achieve the best possible results. During my time at Nanogami, I have already learned a lot of new things, which include both technical and interdisciplinary skills. This is not only fun, but also necessary for successful collaboration. 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲? AFM (atomic force microscope): You can use it to visualise the smallest structures, such as individual DNA strands. That fascinates me a lot and I always have the feeling of immersing myself in a world hidden to the eye

🌟 What a great Team Event! 🌟 We recently concluded a productive workshop with Denise Harrison. The focus? *Feedback* We covered the fundamentals, including the different types of feedback, how to deliver it effectively, and how to receive it constructively. But what truly made this session valuable was the dynamic and interactive atmosphere Denise and the team created. We had lively conversations, thought-provoking discussions, and a lot of laughs along the way. Our highlight was the group exercise, where we practiced giving and receiving feedback using her self-designed "Trusting-Teams" Card Deck. Many of us were pleasantly surprised by the positive and energising experience. Who knew feedback could be so uplifting? The day ended with a company-wide BBQ, featuring self made and international dishes and desserts prepared by our colleagues. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect and unwind outside of the office. Thank you to Denise for an insightful workshop, to Volocopter for providing us with the grill and benches, and to everyone who contributed to the BBQ. We look forward to more opportunities for growth and connection. #LeadershipTraining #TeamBuilding #Feedback #CompanyCulture #ProfessionalDevelopment #Networking. #Hiring
