Skytanking Holding GmbH is pleased to announce that its Belgian subsidiary has signed a six-year contract with Brussels Airport, after an extensive tender process, to operate its aviation fuel storage and hydrant system. Today marks the official commencement of this significant contract. “This contract award underscores Skytanking's ambition to be the preferred partner for airports, airlines, and fuel companies seeking a high-quality aviation service provider,” explains Skytanking Vice President for Northern Europe Christoph Lindke. “We deeply appreciate Brussels Airport's confidence in our team, acknowledging the excellent service we have consistently delivered in Brussels and numerous other airport fuel farms worldwide over the past decades.” Brussels Airport is Belgium’s busiest airport and ranks amongst the Top 30 in Europe in terms of passenger numbers. Skytanking has already been providing into-plane fuelling and other services to its customers at Brussels Airport for many years. Skytanking implements milestone Electric Fuel Dispensers at Brussels Airport We're excited to announce a major milestone for the Stargate project - Skytanking has deployed the first fully electric high-flow hydrant fuel dispensers at Brussels Airport ⚡️✈️ After two years of testing with retrofitted vehicles, the acquisition of two fully custom-made electric hydrant dispensers represents a significant leap forward in sustainable aviation. This innovation allows for: ✔ Reduced impact on local environment: Electric dispensers eliminate noise and exhaust fumes, contributing to a healthier environment around the airport. ✔Enhanced Efficiency: Extensive testing has resulted in a new design that boasts industry-leading energy consumption, using at least half the energy of previous models. ✔Scalable Solution: The standardized electric chassis allows for effortless replication, paving the way for widespread adoption across European airports. 🛩️ Technical immersion day with the experts from Skytanking Vienna! On 9 and 10 April, we had the privilege of welcoming Marko Schulze, site manager, and Christian Medwenitsch, technical manager and deputy director of Skytanking in Vienna. They gave us a detailed demonstration of the 380 and 381 vehicles that we have recently added to our fleet in anticipation of our increased activity this summer. 🔧 The demonstration highlighted the specific features and advanced safety systems of these vehicles. We were able to discover their operation in electric mode, which allows refuelling without a combustion engine, as well as in combustion mode suitable for winter periods. 💡 A highlight of the visit was handling the new BARTEC meter, a novelty for us who usually use EMR3s. This hands-on session was crucial in familiarising our team with this advanced technology. After a rewarding lunch, our afternoon continued at the test bench where we had the chance to test this equipment directly, enhancing our understanding and operational efficiency. The day concluded with an enjoyable dinner in Chantilly, celebrating a fruitful collaboration and team spirit. 🌟 A great experience, which we wanted to share with you, highlighting the importance of knowledge sharing in our sector! ----------- 🛩️ Journée d'immersion technique avec les experts de Skytanking Vienne! Les 9 et 10 avril derniers, nous avons eu le privilège de recevoir Marko Schulze, site manager, et Christian Medwenitsch, responsable technique et directeur adjoint de Skytanking à Vienne. Ils nous ont proposé une démonstration détaillée des véhicules 380 et 381 que nous avons récemment intégrés à notre flotte pour anticiper l'accroissement de notre activité cet été. 🔧 La démonstration a mis en lumière les spécificités et les systèmes de sécurité avancés de ces véhicules. Nous avons pu découvrir leur fonctionnement en mode électrique, qui permet un avitaillement sans moteur thermique, ainsi qu'en mode thermique adapté aux périodes hivernales. 💡 Un point fort de cette visite fut la manipulation du nouveau compteur BARTEC, une nouveauté pour nous qui utilisons habituellement des EMR3. Cette session pratique a été cruciale pour familiariser notre équipe avec cette technologie avancée. Après un déjeuner enrichissant, notre après-midi a continué au banc d'essais où nous avons eu la chance de tester directement ces équipements, renforçant ainsi notre compréhension et notre efficacité opérationnelle.
