We are proud that Exlabesa Industry, a world leader in the extrusion of customized industrial components, has once again chosen our 100% subsidiary Hertwich Engineering to expand its aluminum recycling plant in the Spanish province of A Coruña. The new continuous homogenization plant will allow Exlabesa to increase its recycling capacity by 30,000 tons of aluminum per year.   Focus on #sustainability 🌱 By recycling post-consumer aluminum scrap, Exlabesa is making a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and promoting a cleaner and more efficient industry based on the principles of the circular economy.   Increased #capacity ♻ The new plant will increase Exlabesa's continuous homogenization capacity to approximately 80,000 tons per year. We are pleased to announce a significant achievement at voestalpine Stahl GmbH in Linz with the successful first cast using the new ladle turret from SMS group. This milestone marks a major step forward in our ongoing modernization efforts. 💥Achievement Highlights: 🛠The new ladle turret was designed and supplied by SMS CONCAST, including a robust foundation structure (STAKO) measuring 14m x 6.5m x 5m and weighing 110 tons. 👷♂️ 👷♀️ 🛠 Installation and commissioning were completed smoothly under the supervision of SMS. ✅ The ladle turret was successfully put into operation in November 2023, followed by the first cast. We are proud to report that all performance tests met the high standards of voestalpine Stahl GmbH and SMS CONCAST, leading to the signing of the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC). #leadingpartner #Modernization #partnership

Last fall, teams from Aluminum Dynamics, LLC visited the SMS group's workshop in Hilchenbach, Germany, to take a look at pre-assembled hot and cold rolling mills. 🌍🔧 Meanwhile, the mill stands have arrived at the site in Columbus, Mississippi, where Aluminum Dynamics is building its new plant complex for the production of aluminum flat products. New Order for X-Pact® High Current green power supply technology! 💥 thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH has awarded SMS group the contract to supply 44 X-Pact® High Current switch-mode rectifiers for its electrolytic tinning line in Andernach, Germany. This future-oriented technology will replace the existing thyristor system and provide maximum process-oriented power supply performance with minimum maintenance, contributing to more sustainable tinplate production. 🌿 The comprehensive know-how and the many years of experience of SMS in the engineering and construction of plants for electrolytic strip treatment processes and in the field of power supply are what distinguish the integrated solutions of the SMS group for this type of plant.
