Joy Behar asked the hard-hitting questions on this morning’s episode of The View, which welcomed The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Taylor Frankie Paul and Mayci Neely to the Hot Topics table.

The new Hulu reality series follows a group of young Mormon moms as they deal with the aftermath of Paul’s viral confession that she and her husband were getting a divorce after engaging in “soft swinging” with their other Mormon influencer friends.

“What happened there? And what is soft swinging? Explain that,” Behar said to Paul at the start of their interview.

But before Paul could respond, Sara Haines chimed in, “It’s not hard swinging, it’s soft swinging,” to which Behar joked, “That may be the problem.”

Paul, for her part, clarified exactly what she meant by “soft swinging” to the longtime co-host.

“Swinging is where you full-on switch partners, like, swingers, right?” she said. “And so for us, we opened up our relationship — we were playing games and being intimate all in front of each other. We weren’t full-on swinging, per se.”

The content creator said she “didn’t come up with the term,” noting that she would’ve instead called it “inexperienced people opening up their relationship.”

Behar then joked, “Mormon swinging would’ve been good,” prompting Paul to visibly cringe at the suggestion.

Not only does the show document the fallout of her scandal, but it also sheds light on a new generation of Mormon culture.

“One thing I always say to everyone is that we’re not polygamous, which is so funny because [Paul] was swinging,” Neely said. “We’re the modern Mormons. Not everyone is so cookie-cutter. You can be Mormon and you can wear a tank top. You can be Mormon and you be also more of a tradwife. You can do it all. And I think that’s what we like to show.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
