A huge milestone unlocked for the offshore wind ports in the Philippines! The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has announced the repurposing of three key ports to support offshore wind projects. Among the three ports, the Currimao Port in Ilocos Norte is set to facilitate the development of our 2 GW BuhaWind Energy Philippines project, Northern Luzon. The project is a joint venture between Copenhagen Energy and PetroEnergy Resources Corporation, and the most advanced offshore wind project in the Philippines. Sta. Clara Port, another of the three ports, is set to support the Buhawind project in Northern Mindoro reaching an additional 1 GW. Together with our partners from PetroEnergy, we have been engaging with the authorities for the last four years and we applaud them for this bold step in advancing offshore wind in the Philippines. This news comes in a row of positive developments from the recently announced auction for offshore wind and NGCP’s (National Grid Corporation of the Philippines) grid extensions. ❗PPA alert ❗ Copenhagen Energy has signed a PPA with Valeos Pharma A/S, ensuring green power for Valeos from Copenhagen Energy's project pipeline in Lolland Municipality. The agreement covers several Copenhagen Energy projects in the municipality, combining both solar and wind energy. Valeos Pharma is a fast-growing, innovative producer of medical cannabis with production facilities in Holeby, Lolland. Valeos Pharma has ambitious plans for expansion, and this agreement secures green energy for both their current and future demands. This agreement ensures that the green energy produced from the hybrid projects, consisting of both wind and solar, directly benefits the local community in Lolland. By supplying a Lolland-based company like Valeos Pharma, the power generated stays within the region, supporting local businesses and contributing to the area's sustainable growth. “We are very excited to sign this agreement with Valeos. We are impressed with their journey and innovative products and are proud to contribute to their current and future production. It is a core part of our development philosophy that our projects should benefit local communities, and we are securing that for Lolland by signing this agreement,” says Senior Project Manager Alexander Borup Jeppesen. #PPA #power #purchase #agreement #onshore #wind #solarPV #renewable #energy #green #energy #local #community #Lolland #Denmark #CopenhagenEnergy #CE

Another milestone for offshore wind in the Philippines 📢 The Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that preparations for the Green Energy Auction for offshore wind projects will kick end of 2024. This is a massive milestone, as the DOE eyes an 8-month lead time for bid submissions. The next year will be crucial for shaping the offshore wind industry in the Philippines, and we could not be more excited to be part of this journey! At Copenhagen Energy, we are developing three offshore wind farms along the coast of the country. Our flagship project, Northern Luzon, was recently selected by the DOE as one of the frontrunners in the Philippine offshore wind market. The project brings a combined capacity 2 GW which can power 2,000,000 homes annually. Learn more about our projects here: https://buhawind.com.ph/

Our colleague Jacob von Rosen represented Copenhagen Energy at the annual Folkemøde in Møn 🌱 Together with local politicians and industry representatives, Jacob was part of the important panel discussion on the future of renewable energy in Denmark: “Wind or Solar: NIMBY eller MIMBY – maybe in my backyard.” The conversations explored the critical questions of: How do we balance the need for more solar and wind installations with the concerns of local communities? As Jakob emphasized, finding space for both people and renewable energy infrastructure is vital for Denmark's sustainable future. The conversation also highlighted the importance of community engagement and thoughtful planning throughout the entire phase of renewable energy development. #renewable #energy #onshore #wind #solar #PV #green #energy #Folkemøde #Møn #CopenhagenEnergy #CE

Energy Minister Chris Bowen has officially declared the offshore wind zone in the Bunbury region 🍃 Thanks to today’s announcement by the Federal Government, Western Australia can reshape its future energy mix by adding renewable and reliable offshore wind to its portfolio. At Copenhagen Energy, we welcome the announcement and we look forward to progressing our Leeuwin Offshore Wind Farm. Over the past four years, we have been developing our plans, conducting environmental, social and engineering scoping studies and talking to many stakeholders. Offshore wind can exist alongside other industries and activities and we are committed to creating a good model of co-existence by talking with stakeholders and adapting the project accordingly! The area declaration in the Indian Ocean off the Bunbury region is a significant milestone. However, it’s just the beginning, our next step is to apply for a feasibility licence, bringing us closer to delivering a world-class offshore wind project for Western Australia. Once the feasibility licence is awarded, the feasibility stage for a project will take five to seven years. Within this period, significant survey works and stakeholder engagement would be initiated to further address the feasibility of the proposed project.
