New editor accused of COI by seeming activist

edit

Hi all - looking for advice please. I was talking to someone random about activism on Wikipedia, and immediately rebutted them as I generally find it neutral - however after having just been accused unfairly I believe of a conflict by an admin I am now unsure ! The admin has extensive political and activist links, and seems to object to the edits on that basis, as I did point out there was no personal connection of actual COI with the edits...how to proceed please ? It's pretty basic stuff so unsure why edits were reversed unless it is politically motivated. Thanks - Guy Quartermain (talk) 01:05, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

User:Schwede66. I not in any way wish to personalise this but given the COI list on this page it seems there is a clear issue here - can we keep it neutral please in future and put my changes back thanks Guy Quartermain (talk) 01:08, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Antwort
This is obviously not an Arbcom issue but just for context:
  • User talk:Guy Quartermain talk page admission friends occasionally ask me to fix their wiki so any changes to bio pages are direct from source then checked by me
  • Revert 1 talk page notice: Talk:Adrian Hailwood
  • Revert 2 talk page notice: Talk:Paul Hutchison

" people I come across " is actually accurate - sorry I just misunderstand the terminology and it was simply a turn of phrase. As per your own COI's NZ has so few degrees of separation...I think the edits are perfectly reasonable, and the admin action disproportionate. Forgive process errors please I'm just learning so will keep pursuing this. Thanks Guy Quartermain (talk) 01:38, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- will await Stewards response and try to not break any more rules ! There is no COI though I'm a humble photographer so guess that's the only route no wish to edit war !! Guy Quartermain (talk) 02:02, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
