After 1964, Greek government policy switched to double enosis, or partitioning Cyprus between Greece and Turkey. The military junta that took power in 1967 in Athens also supported double enosis/partition and not enosis. undo Tag: Reverted

This is complete rubbish and pure Turkish propaganda. Those missing as a result of Turkish invasion are well documented and none were killed during coup. Removed suggestion that Makarios was overthrown because he opposed enosis. What Makarios opposed was double enosis or partition of the island between Greece and Turkey, which was Greece's policy. undo Tag: Reverted
