China calls it "Dong Hai" or "East Sea" only when referencing it in Mandarin. What is in dispute is the name of Sea of Japan. Korea calls it "East Sea" because it is on the east of the Korean Peninsula. But Japan disagrees and insist on retaining the name "Sea of Japan", the name in usage internationally and by IHO. undo
