David Hirsch grew up in [[Peoria, Illinois]] and attended the [[Fasman Yeshiva High School]] in [[Skokie, Illinois|Skokie]]. He was the captain of his high school basketball team. After graduating from Fasman, Hirsch spent two years studying in [[Yeshivat Sha'alvim]] in [[Israel]].
