Halfbridled was retired from racing early in her four year old racing career, due to her tendency to "tie up" before races, resulting in her being scracthed. It was hoped that breeding her would end the problem. She successfully delivered a filly in 2007 out of Giant's Causeway. Hopefully with such a quality sire and dam, Halfbridled's filly will continue in her mother's successful footsteps, and maybe even win an Eclipse Award herself.

===2004: Three-year-old season===
Halfbridled made her sophomore debut in the [[Santa Anita Oaks]], finishing second behind Composure.

Next she contested the [[Beaumont Stakes]], again finishing second in what was her final race.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.equibase.com/profiles/Results.cfm?type=Horse&refno=6285298&registry=T|title=Equibase {{!}} Profiles|last=Equibase.com|website=Equibase|access-date=2017-10-03}}</ref> After the Beaumont Stakes, it was discovered that Halfbridled had sustained an injury to her canon bone and would be sidelined for the rest of the season.

The following November, after supposedly healing from her injury, Halfbridled returned to training to prepare for the 2005 racing season. During a gallop it was realized that the filly never truly healed from her injury, and the decision was made to retire her.<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/173149/champion-halfbridled-retired|title=Champion Halfbridled Retired|work=BloodHorse.com|access-date=2017-10-03}}</ref>
