Simon Lenard-Jones
Untitled
Have removed Simon Lenard-Jones from the squad, as a Wrexham fan I've never heard of him and can't find any other evidence of him on the net - please re-add with some evidence if anyone knows who he is. Jaded1 12:22, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

The history is VERY confusing. Where do all the moves fit into the English system? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_league_system
Of course, that is pretty confusing itself. 74.127.200.37 (talk) 18:23, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

:Hi, Is there a guideline against foreign companies in football club infoboxes? Arsenal F.C. and Leicester City F.C. do have foreign owners in their infoboxes? I believe it is important that readers can easily see the ownership of a club (especially with the coverage around it), regardless if the owner is British or not. But be free to explain further, confused at what the issue is, do UK football clubs only list the owner if they're British-owned? Thanks <span style="color: black">Dank</span><span style="color: red">Jae</span> 19:28, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

::Here is information about the ownership of Wrexham AFC on their own site (See here), it says "Wrexham AFC Limited is wholly owned by Wrexham Holdings LLC. The R.R. McReynolds Company, LLC, a company formed pursuant to the Delaware Limited Liability Company Act in the USA own 95% of the shares in Wrexham Holdings LLC. The R.R. McReynolds Company, LLC is owned equally by Rob McElhenney & Ryan Reynolds and as such, they are jointly the ultimate beneficial owners of 95% in Wrexham AFC Limited." :In the pyramid of British football certain numbers of teams drop each year from one league to the next one down; this is relegation. Some equal number, of course, go from the lower to the higher; this is promotion, which Wrexham has just achieved with this weekend's game result. ::While I am open to it being more clear, if "relegated" follows a statement such as "fourth tier", then assume it means to the fifth tier. <span style="color: black">Dank</span><span style="color: red">Jae</span> 17:14, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
:Because of how the English football pyramid works, there is only one place a relegated professional team can go—-that is the league below. It is therefore self evident, unless you are talking about relegation to regional leagues in which case there may even be a choice of which league the club enters. Regional divisons and leagues begin below the top tier of the National League from which Wrexham have just gained promotion from. == Proposed new article - List of Wrexham A.F.C. records and statistics ==

With this article at over 160kB, I believe this article would qualify for WP:SIZESPLIT as it seems quite bloated currently. I was considering splitting sections from this article such as: Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Steve Edwards Goal of the Season Award, Top scorers and PFA Team of the Year onto a new page - List of Wrexham A.F.C. records and statistics. I would also add honours and European records etc in line with other existing pages such as: List of Port Vale F.C. records and statistics. What are people's thoughts on this? == Actual legal name of the owning company ==

In the part of the article documenting the goings-on in the early years of this century, there’s a bit: “Had the club still been in Administration by 3 June (2007) then Wrexham would have automatically been expelled from the League because of their financial situation. Wrexham Football Club (2006) Ltd is the name of the "phoenix" company that took over the assets of the old Wrexham Association Football Club Limited – technically, the club is no longer known as Wrexham Association Football Club due to the takeover of the club by Neville Dickens and Geoff Moss and their associates; this is reflected on new merchandise, although most fans will still refer to it as "Wrexham AFC".”
This is not actually a full description of what happened, but the tangled web of administration and suchlike is complex, as I discovered while poking around on Companies House:
:— the original limited company was company number 124022, Wrexham Association Football Club Limited (The), incorporated on 29 August 1912, in administration between 3 December 2004 and 29 May 2007, still showing as active on Companies House, though with accounts overdue since 2005! This is the company Gutterman and Hamilton were directors of.
:— Company number 5800501, Wrexham Football Club (2006) Ltd, incorporated 28 April 2006, dissolved on 10 March 2015. This is the company Neville Dickens was a director of 2006-2008.
:— there’s also company number 7638718, Wrexham Football Club Limited, incorporated 18 May 2011 and dissolved on 8 January 2013, Jonathan Elwyn Harris was the only director, and the company was dissolved by compulsory strike-off, implying that it never filed any accounts with Companies House.
:— Company number 7698872, Wrexham AFC Limited, incorporated 8 July 2011 - this is the company Ryan and Rob bought, which they and Humphrey Ker are the current directors of.
:— there’s also company number 6931786 Wrexham AFC Community Trust (until 2 November 2021, The Racecourse Community Foundation), incorporated 11 June 2009, a “Private Limited Company by guarantee without share capital use of ‘Limited’ exemption”, Humphrey Ker is one of 5 remaining directors of this company. They filed an annual report and accounts with Companies House earlier this year which makes interesting reading, documenting their charitable work promoting football in North Wales.

2024 Promotion to League One
Stockport and Wrexham were auto-promoted hours ago and their article references that. So should this.

:::They will be a League One team as of the final whistle on 19 May 2024, as that is when the play-offs end. Right? Unless the Championship Play-Off Final 7 days later is the cut off date. The article will have to stay semi-locked till then.

Malayalam Translation of the page (Help Needed)
Hi I created a Malayalam translation of this page. But the automatic translation of the name 'Wrexham' wasn't right in Malayalam, so I edited it. But I think because of that, it didn't get linked to the original article.

Forgetting I did the same exercise six months ago, I did it again (Because when I looked for the malayalam version of the page, I couldn't find one, sorry.)

But what I did is, I made both pages exactly the same.

So, if anyone could, please choose one page, link it to the original and delete the other one.

Linking both here (They are exactly the same):

:@Libinthathappilly, bit confused by what you're after. But if you're questioning why under "languages" Malayalam doesn't appear, you need to edit the Wikidata item and add the title of the (correct, by your definition) Malayalam version there (near the bottom in the "Wikipedia" list of language versions, I assume with language code <code>ml</code>).
:The concern of deleting the article has to be raised on Malayalam Wikipedia not here on English Wikipedia, although you appear to be the sole author of both versions so you could (assuming a similar policy to here) redirect the one with the incorrect title, to the correct one. Otherwise follow Malayalam Wikipedia's policy concerning deletion, moving or redirecting.
:Nonetheless, thanks! <span style="color: black">Dank</span><span style="color: red">Jae</span> 19:10, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

The "Affiliates" section in the infobox needs a rethink
Cefn Druids share a stadium with the women through a multi-year contract and are based in Wrexham, makes sense. Lex XI is based in Wrexham and the historical connection is explained here. Wrexham A.F.C. Women, obviously.
<br>Liverpool´s reserves used the Racecourse for a while and donated money to the club during the administration. Good enough?

I have no idea what the connection to Colwyn Bay or Prestatyn Town is. The respective articles offer no insight, google failed me and a fan forum was equally stumped. At least these 2 should be removed if none can be found.
Gresford Athletic F.C. on the other hand also shares a ground with the women rn and operates out of Wrexham. A connection is almost as strong as with Cefn Druids and might warrant inclusion as long as the women play at The Rock.

Club Necaxa is also on its way to becoming an affiliated club due to the shares exchange and the spin-off show. We should know more sometime in 2025. Residentgrigo (talk)
