Jeri was on Voyager for four years. Is the Borg costume she wore on her first two episodes, really the only thing worth noting here? And again just to be clear. It was the Borg costume that made her

:No. See WP:FU. --Yamla 22:11, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
::Are there any circumstances under which any non-free image can be used in a WP:BIO? From what I'm reading, I'm beginning to suspect the answer is no - A little too conservative for my taste, but please let us know if there's a way around it. In this case, there really don't seem to be any free images anywhere to be found, and I've spent a considerable amount of time looking. [[User:MrZaius|<
:::Not for the infobox, no. However, if the inclusion of the image is to provide critical commentary on the image itself, it can be allowed. We are looking for an image to depict Jeri Ryan, though, and no fair-use image can be allowed for that. Wikipedia's policy is certainly much stricter than U.S. fair-use doctrine allows for but the reason for this is that we are trying to build a free encyclopedia; copyright restrictions are "unfree". --Yamla 01:43, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
::::Yes. You can use an image of her as Seven of Nine in the infobox. Problem is, she has to die first. It's at that point that no free image could conceivably be produced. As long as she's alive, there's a chance that a free image can be produced. See, for instance, Judy Holliday and Rita Hayworth. <span style="font-family:monospace;">Dismas</span>|(talk) 04:57, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

:What about this image of her from Memory Alpha? Seeing as how it's basically the Wikipedia of Star Trek, if they can use it, can't we as well? --Antodav2007 (talk) 16:54, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
::Yes, MA is the Wikipedia of the Star Trek world but their policies are not the same as ours. That image is copyrighted by Paramount and is used under a claim of fair use. As has been already said, fair use images are not allowed in infoboxes for bio articles. <span style="font-family:monospace;">Dismas</span>|(talk) 18:52, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
:::Really—in all this time, no one's managed to find a better photo of this beautiful woman than this one, where she's been caught looking rather like a cartoon horse? (Believe me, I'm sympathetic, knowing how hard tabloid photogs work to get the goofiest shots possible.) Has anyone tried contacting her agency? Surely they'd like her to be portrayed better on a high-profile site like WP. – AndyFielding (talk) 10:58, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
