Gympie the town itself is not part of Wide-Bay Burnett. The town sits within the greater Sunshine Coast so this has been amended. Parts of the Gympie Regional Council area sit within the Wide Bay Burnett. On government planning in Queensland, including for health services, Gympie Is classified as the Sunshine Coast and most Gympie residents say they are from the Sunshine Coast.
