* The main event which led to a series of violent offences occurred on [[Waitangi Day]], 2002. A Black-Power "prospect", aged 16 was fatally shot by a member of the Mongrel Mob gang. There have been numerous serious assaults since this incident, some of which have reached national newspapers and television broadcasts.
