Kalamaria, like much of [[Thessaloniki metropolitan area]] lies in a transitional climate zone between [[Semi-arid climate|Semi-arid]] and [[Temperate climate|Temperate climates]], classiffying as Coldcold <nowiki>[[semi-arid climate]]</nowiki> (BSk) according to [[Köppen climate classification]] while it records 408 mm annual precipitation with an average temperature of 17.1 °C throughout the year. Temperatures in the warmest months rarely (if ever) exceed 40 °C while frost may occur several days per year during the winter months. Thunderstorms are more common during the warmest half of the year.
