In the mid 2000's Yate was home to the Notorious State 13 Gang. The gang was known to have strong connections to the Italian mafia and multiple American gangs. Although disbanded, there have been reports of a resurgence emerging from the new Ladden garden village estate that's borders the brimsham park area (please add supporting references)
