The Prime Minister personally appoints the head of the Mossad for Intelligence and Special Duties without needing government or other supervisory body approval (unlike the Chief of Staff or the [[Shin Bet]]'s head). The appointment undergoes review by the advisory committee for appointing senior civil service officials.
