:Apparently not, but the counties got their names from [[Hugh Mercer]] [http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~momercer/index.html], and Princeton was named for the battle that killed him. I am not sure why the town and county were named for Hugh Mercer, though. A Revolutionary War general still had relevance at that time and in the West?
