Steinmetz spent a significant amount of time studying in [[Yeshivat HaKotel|Yeshivat Hakotel]] (located in [[Jerusalem]], [[Israel]]) before coming to Yeshiva University to serve as the Rebbe's shamash. Past Shamashim include Etan Schnall, Yitzi Genack and Yosef Shwartz.
