Articles relating to slave forts, fortifications designed to provide an area in which enslaved victims would be kept until sails were ready to set them aboard and forcefully migrate the enslaved people during the Atlantic slave trade. A slave fort was a militarised factory (trading post) which evolved at locations where the slave trade played a significant economic role on the coast of Africa.
