Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Turkey

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Turkey. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Turkey|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Turkey. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
Further information
For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Middle East.

Not notable enough to have its own article. No objection if anyone merges it into Space program of Turkey as an alternative to deletion Chidgk1 (talk) 19:27, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:NOTNEWS. From what I've been able to find, only primary sources exist on the event with no secondary sources existing on the event. The event does not have in-depth nor continued coverage. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 09:38, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per nom. The only news about the event I could found WP:RS is from Yahoo! which is from 2016 which definitely fails WP:CONTINUEDCOVERAGE Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 12:57, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Looked through Turkish media and not publicly available archives but I didn’t find any sufficient sources for indicating the airways’ notability. Dirubii Olchoglu (talk) 08:44, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - Fails WP:NCORP - no WP:SIGCOV of the airline in independent reliable third-party sources that I could see from a look through the first ten pages of Google results. The airline cannot WP:INHERIT the notability of the ECHR case which anyway had its own article. Parties to ECHR cases - who can be private citizens - are not automatically notable. Feel free to ping me if more sources are found.
Regarding the assertion that articles about old airlines have "historical" interest, that is not for us to decide with no reference to anything off-Wiki. Instead the interest of historians has to be evidenced by references to articles and texts showing that the subject-matter is of "historical" importance. This article should be deleted, as it seems to overlap with Turkish invasion of Cyprus. LR.127 (talk) 09:16, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: Still no consensus. Please remember to sign your comments. And don't worry about the article page title, that can be discussed if the article is Kept.
