Netherlands is the first country in the world formally to legalise euthanasia.
In Wikipedia, it didn’t mention Netherlands is the first country in the world formally to legalise euthanasia. I think it should be added since there is a sentence in Wikipedia that voluntary euthanasia was legalized in Colombia (in 1997), the Netherlansa (in 2002). It’s not correct. Colombia is not the first country to legalize the euthanasia. It will mislead reader.
Colombia doesn't make sense
"In May 1997 the Colombian Constitutional Court allowed for the voluntary euthanasia of sick patients who requested to end their lives, by passing Article 326 of the 1980 Penal Code.[78] This ruling owes its success to the efforts of a group that strongly opposed voluntary euthanasia. "
The court allowed for euthanasia, thanks to a group that opposes euthanasia!?
Palliative medicine articles
Please be aware when citing articles from palliative medicine that they are mostly opposed to changes in the law in respect to assisted suicide and cannot therefore be considered neutral. For instance they will commonly conflate euthanasia and voluntary euthanasia where there is a very important distinction. Jdee4 (talk) 15:02, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
Also known as murder
"If a person is unable to provide consent it is referred to as non-voluntary euthanasia. Killing a person who does not want to die, or who is capable of giving consent and whose consent has not been solicited, is the crime of involuntary euthanasia, and is regarded as murder."
While it is in the interests of some people to invert the debate, and confuse the issue, is not the above statement is very clear and to the point? Given this, should not any article on the subject be balanced and avoid pushing a pro-euthanasia point of view? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.151.2.22 (talk) 07:25, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
Could this article highlight the point that the debate on assisted suicide/killing did not just appear from nowhere - but is part of a well-funded and long-running campaign? Then again, if the people are honestly concerned about quality of life and death, then should they not push for better funding of first-rate End of Life care? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.149.166.137 (talk) 09:14, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
I think it is stupid that you have no say in being consummated but you can't have a concussion to end it
I didn't ask to be born
