Farewell Bend State Recreation Area is in Baker County, Oregon, United States about 25 miles (40 km) northwest of Ontario. Farewell Bend was the last stop on the Oregon Trail beside the Snake River. It was the last place for travelers to rest, water and graze their animals before the trail turned away north through more rugged country to the Burnt River where and then westward toward the Columbia River.
