Football
Men's tournament
Argentina men's football team qualified for the Olympics after sealing triumph at the 2015 South American Youth Championship in Uruguay.[4]

Rugby sevens
Men's tournament
Argentina men's Rugby seven team qualified for the Olympics after sealing triumph at the 2015 CONSUR Men's Sevens Championships in Santa Fe, Argentina.[5]
- Men's team event – 1 team of 12 players
Sailing
Argentina has qualified one boat for each of the following events upon receiving a place from the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships.[6]
- Men's sailboard – RS:X (Mariano Reutemann)
- Mixed multihull – Nacra 17 (Santiago Lange & Cecilia Carranza Saroli)
