Early life and education

The synonymy of music to Pappykojo’s life is fundamental. Discovering his inclination to imitate, replicate and create music early, young Pappy (born Jason Gaisie) wasted little time delving in. Surrounded by a doting grandma and parents Kofi Badu & Rosemond Gaisie, Pappykojo had enough support to serve as a springboard for his music career.

Music career

Pappykojo is a ‘Stan’ and a Lil Wayne fanatic and you can hear their influence in his music. His infectious jovial spirit is also evident in his flow. A flow garnered from piecing together bits of his childhood in Takoradi, Ghana and Verona, Italy. This facilitated his meteoric rise to fame, he came to the forefront of African music after releasing hits like, Realer No, Ay3 Late and Awo’a and then went went on a year long hiatus. After he took a break from music to find himself and grow, he released M’akoma a smooth infectious love ballad that won an award for the best photography in a music video at the 2017 MTN 4syte Music Video Awards. He dropped the globally acclaimed hit Akwaaba with GuiltyBeatz, Patapaa and Mr Eazi in 2018 and started off this year right with the release of the first single off his highly anticipated debut EP Logo II ; Balance featuring Joey B and Nshona Muzick.

Passion for what he does drives Pappykojo more than anything. He wants to share this belief in passion and how it facilitates growth with his fans. He has multiple awards to his name; AFRIMA best song of the year (2018), VGMA hip hop song of the year 2015, to name a few.

2019 is the year that Pappykojo reinforces himself as a global African artist.
