- Abdullah Abdullah, the head of Afghanistan's High Council for National Reconciliation, which leads peace efforts with the Taliban, says on Saturday that his team is ready to start discussions with the armed group "at any moment". The group has not commented on Abdullah's remarks. (Al Jazeera)

- Ethiopia–Sudan relations
- Sudan summons Ethiopian ambassador regarding an attack in the border between the two countries that killed military personnel and civilians, including children. A Sudanese military spokesman blamed militias "supported by Ethiopia". There was no response from the Ethiopian government. (Reuters)

- A Federal Protective Service officer is killed and another injured in an overnight drive-by shooting outside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland, California, amid protests over the death of George Floyd five days prior. (NBC News)
