Removing merchandise as a suggested notability factor: everything these days has merchandise, and it by itself doesn't really show notability. It's still good to list how a character was promoted to them, but it doesn't demonstrate real world importance

Information that may help provide the real-world discussion necessary for an encyclopedia article about a fictional topic includes reception, analysis, significance, development, legacy and influence, relationshipand relationships with or comparisoncomparisons to other media, and merchandise. Dedicated sections are good, though sometimes in less developed articles, such information is contained in the lead but not the body.
