===Transition all pages from {{[[template:header|header]]}} to {{[[template:header2|header2]]}}===
There are 16272 pages still using the deprecated {{[[template:header|header]]}} template. These will be transitioned to {{[[template:header2|header2]]}} by [[user:Pathosbot|Pathosbot]] using a dedicated [[w:Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser|AutoWikiBrowser]] plugin (<span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:User:Pathosbot/TemplateEditor.cs|oldid=650811}} source code]</span>). —<small>{[[WS:ADMIN|admin]]} [[User talk:Pathoschild/s|Pathoschild]] 00:31:18, 04 May 2008 (UTC)</small>

: 272 pages done. So far it's handling all variations without difficulty (including [{{fullurl:George Washington's Second State of the Union Address|diff=632530}} redundant symbols], [{{fullurl:The Analects|diff=632387}} overrides], [{{fullurl:The Charge of the Light Brigade|diff=632386}} missing parameters], and [{{fullurl:Pride and Prejudice|diff=632457}} nested templates with parameters]). —<small>{[[WS:ADMIN|admin]]} [[User talk:Pathoschild/s|Pathoschild]] 04:41:12, 04 May 2008 (UTC)</small>

: Done. I reorganized the pages and [[user:Pathosbot|Pathosbot]] regenerated the header values (<span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ/Chapter 169|diff=660083}} example], [{{fullurl:User:Pathosbot/TemplateEditor.cs|oldid=660112}} source code]</span>). —<small>{[[WS:ADMIN|admin]]} [[User talk:Pathoschild/s|Pathoschild]] 04:47:17, 16 May 2008 (UTC)</small>

===Normalize headers: ''[[The Documentary History of the State of New York]]''===
* Remove HTML formatting from the 'previous' and 'section' metadata parameters.

===1911 Encyclopædia Britannica maintenance one-use bot===
This bot will be helping [[Wikisource:WikiProject_1911_Encyclop%C3%A6dia_Britannica|WikiProject_1911_Encyclopædia_Britannica]]. It's basically just doing some cleanup after a template change. It will be working with all subpages of [[1911_Encyclop%C3%A6dia_Britannica|1911_Encyclopædia_Britannica]]. It's tasks are this:

# Check for the presence of the template {{tl|EB1911}}. Compile a list of those on [[User:Psychless/Temp]] under the heading: Needs EB template. I will be dealing with those articles.
# Remove the parameter |article=. Change the parameter |nonotes= to |wikipedia="none".
# If the template on the article has any parameter '''except''': previous, next, wikipedia, wikipedia2, other_projects, then add it to a list of articles with incorrect parameters. Post that list under the heading: Incorrect parameters, on [[User:Psychless/Temp]].
# Some articles use the code <nowiki>'''<big>J</big>OHN <big>S</big>mith'''</nowiki>. This outputs: '''<big>J</big>OHN <big>S</big>MITH'''. This could be simplified by using the template {{tl|bbsc}}. The code would be <nowiki>{{bbsc|John Smith}}</nowiki>. Could the bot do this?
# Before the template change, people typed in the value for the |wikipedia= parameter as such: <nowiki>[[Wikipedia:John Smith|John Smith]]</nowiki>. Sometimes as: <nowiki>[[w:John Smith|John Smith]]</nowiki>. Replace this with the name of the page it links to; just: John Smith. Check to see if there are two links: <nowiki>[[w:John Smith|John Smith]] and [[w:George Washington|George Washington]]</nowiki>. If there are, do: |wikipedia=John Smith |wikipedia2=George Washington. Make sure you use the name on the left side of the divider (this symbol: | ), not the right, since for some there will be different text on the right side of the divider.
# The bot needs to check where the link goes. If it redirects to a different page have the bot replace the |wikipedia= value with the name of the article it redirects to. If it redirects to an article that doesn't exist, add it to a list on [[User:Psychless/Temp]] under the heading: noarticle.
# On the wikipedia article an entry links to add the template (if the template isn't already on there) <nowiki>{{Wikisource1911Enc|</nowiki>''entryname''}}.

I hope my directions were somewhat comprehensible. I would ''greatly'' appreciate it if someone would do this, as it means many, many, hours of boring work if I must do this manually. Thanks, '''<font face="Kristen ITC">[[User:Psychless|<font color="ForestGreen">Psych</font>]][[User_talk:Psychless|<font color="DarkGreen">less</font>]]</font>''' 01:50, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

: Re #1, Am I right in assuming that you want a list of subpages ''without'' the template? Does it matter if the pages are placed on [[User:Psychless/Temp]], or is placing them into a maintenance category also acceptable?
: Re #3, are there params that we know may be in use? e.g. the "notes" params that was available in the April 2006 version of the template. If there are specific params then we can temporarily alter the template to place subpages that use these params into a maintenance category to be worked on.
: I have done a little plumbing to tackle #5, and outlined a task for my bot to tackle those first. I've yet to devise the regex required to fix it, but if nobody objects to the process I will create the category and run it manually until I've fine tuned the regexes. See [[User:JVbot#EB1911]]. :: #1: Whatever you would like to do.
:: #3: You should probably look through the history of the template to find those. I don't remember all the parameters.
:: Hope I helped a little, '''<font face="Kristen ITC">[[User:Psychless|<font color="ForestGreen">Psych</font>]][[User_talk:Psychless|<font color="DarkGreen">less</font>]]</font>''' 01:12, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

:: For part 6, I have written a bot to "cross check" the links between EB1911 and WP; the first set of results can be found here: [[Wikisource:WikiProject 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica/WikipediaCrossCheck]]. [[User:Jayvdb|John Vandenberg]] 19:51, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

: '''Re #4:''' It would be much simpler to have all the article names to the format <nowiki>'''JOHN'''</nowiki>. The mixed size capitals in the article titles were not a part of the original EB11. [[User:Eclecticology|Eclecticology]] 10:48, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

:: I won't perform task #4 if there isn't consensus for that format. Looking at [http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-7/264290/BritannicaJehovah600.JPG a scanned page], it looks like that format isn't used in the original. —<small>{[[WS:ADMIN|admin]]} [[User talk:Pathoschild/s|Pathoschild]] 09:53:13, 20 May 2008 (UTC)</small>

Task #1 (adding [[template:EB1911]]) is done, and [[user:Jayvdb|Jayvdb]] is working on tasks #6 and possibly #7 (Wikisource/Wikipedia cross-checking). I'm assigning tasks #2, #3, and #5 (template standardization) to [[user:Pathosbot|Pathosbot]]. —<small>{[[WS:ADMIN|admin]]} [[User talk:Pathoschild/s|Pathoschild]] 03:11:55, 17 May 2008 (UTC)</small>

: Running slowly with human supervision at first (see <span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:User:Pathosbot/TemplateEditor.cs|oldid=664115}} source code]</span>[[User:Pathosbot/TemplateEditor.cs|&nbsp;]]). —<small>{[[WS:ADMIN|admin]]} [[User talk:Pathoschild/s|Pathoschild]] 10:28:44, 17 May 2008 (UTC)</small>
