Iowa Highway 183 is a highway in western Iowa. It runs north to south for 31 miles.

Termini

The south terminus is at an intersection with Iowa Highway 127 east of Mondamin. The north terminus is at an intersection with Iowa Highway 141 in Ute.

Previously, the highway had its southern terminus at U.S. Route 30 in Missouri Valley (1968-1970), U.S. Route 6 in Council Bluffs (1970-1981) and the north edge of Council Bluffs (1981-July 1, 2003). The route as currently constituted is the same as it was when it was commissioned in 1930.

Route Description

Iowa Highway 183 begins east of Mondamin at an intersection with Iowa Highway 127. It goes north-northeasterly through the Loess Hills and goes through the villages of Pisgah, Moorhead, and Soldier. At Soldier, it intersects Iowa Highway 37. It continues on, and at Ute, it meets Iowa Highway 141 and ends.

For most of the current route, Iowa Highway 183 parallels the Soldier River.
