Yantikovsky District (Russian: Янтиковский райо́н; Chuvash: Тăвай районӗ, Tăvay rayonĕ) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in the Chuvash Republic, Russia. It is located in the east of the republic and borders with the Republic of Tatarstan in the south and east, Kanashsky District in the west, and with Urmarsky District in the north. The area of the district is 524.4 square kilometers (202.5 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Yantikovo.[1] Population: 16,421 (2010 Census);[3] 18,580 (2002 Census);[6] 20,017 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Yantikovo accounts for 19.2% of the district's total population.[3]
