In 2007, the Cardinals were reactivated in the [[Gulf Coast League]] and played their first game since folding in 1976 on June 20, a 7-0 win against the [[GCL Nationals]]. The Cardinals won their next game, but then began a 6-game losing streak that lasted until June 30. In July, the Cardinals went 16-14, still heading into August with a sub-500 record. In August, the Cardinals went 8-13, finishing 24-30 and in 3rd place in the East, and missing the playoffs.
