The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a Baptist Christian denomination based in the United States. The words Southern Baptist Convention refer both to the denomination and its annual meeting of delegates. Its "confession of faith" (not binding on members or congregations) is the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition). The SBC is the largest Baptist group, and the largest Protestant denomination in the United States.
