Croatan Beach is a popular destination for locals due to the large free parking lot at the south end of the beach as well as the fact that a breeze is almost always blowing. Few tourists come over the Rudee Bridge and the entrance to the neighborhood is not obvious to most. During summer flat spells you will be greeted by surf schools run by the Recreation Center and Hotline Surfboards, which is owned By Gurney Collins a long time pusher. Just north of Croatan Pass Rudee Inlet is the infamous 1st street. The ECSC has been held at this location for 40 years. |

Croatan Beach is a residential neighborhood in the independent city of Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. It is located on the Atlantic Ocean south of Rudee Inlet and north of Camp Pendleton near the Virginia Beach oceanfront. It is situated in a prime location once planned as a religious and educational resort that was to be called Chautauqua-By-The-Sea.[1]
