The [[Arizona]]-born Evans, better known for his frequent guest-starring appearances on CBS's ''[[Gunsmoke]]'' and as the father, Rob McLaughlin on CBS's ''[[My Friend Flicka (TV series)|My Friend Flicka]]'', opposite [[Anita Louise]] and [[Johnny Washbrook]], appears as Spencer Parish, the owner of Spencer Aviation. The other series characters are [[Christopher Stone (actor)|Christopher Stone]] as Cass Garrett; [[Todd Susman]] as Stan Lewis, Margaret Impert (born 1948) as Linda Dann, the pilot's secretary who is herself a pilot, and [[Britt Leach]] as Mickey "Wig" Wiggins, the company mechanic.<ref name=tt>Alex McNeil, ''Total Television'', p. 779</ref> The pilots are often hired to transport criminals or to engage in more mundane activities, such as [[crop dusting]].
