Therefore, I believe it will be more accurate to describe Brokenshire as having taken a leave of absence instead of having resigned from his post.

GAA claim?

[edit]

Is Brokenshire really the first NI Secretary to attend an Ulster Championship game? Derry v Tyrone seems plausible, but it's unlikely that they would play in Breffni Park, which is in Co. Cavan, not Down. Culloty82 (talk) 17:39, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Minister of State for Security

[edit]

Just wanted to make this note as a rationale for my edit. If you disagree with it, feel free to contact me at my talk page or ping me here.

The source being used to support Brokenshire's supposed resignation from the Home Office does not state that he is resigning: it states that he is taking leave to have surgery.[1] Usually, that would be good enough to support a statement that he is resigning, but his government profile does not mention that he has resigned; the government page for his post states he is the incumbent; the Home Office lists him as one of its ministers. Therefore, I believe it will be more accurate to describe Brokenshire as having taken a leave of absence instead of having resigned from his post.
