The Office of the Media and Civil Affair Group, MCAG is one of the Units of Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines which oversee the DWDD 1134 kHz AFP Radio, Virtual RTV, and provide Information Support Affairs and limited Civil Affairs in support to higher headquarters objectives and AFP as a whole.

MCAG also produces defense-related news and articles for radio and virtual RTV broadcast. It also provides Media coverage on various AFP events. Not only has its focused on the radio programs and broadcast but also caters and produce multimedia products for Social Media propagation.

The Media and Civil Affairs Group also aims to strengthen its Civil Affairs activities through different stakeholder engagements.

The group not only promotes and covers AFP events, it also produces, direct and organizes numerous live concerts throughout the year.

The launching of Ang Inyong Kawal TV Show airing in UNTV was also made possible through MCAG’s determined attempt to showcase the capabilities,

initiatives and efforts of the Armed Forces. Its first episode was aired last 20 February 2021 and is still running up to this moment.

Today, the Media and Civil Affairs Group continues its mandate and mission in support to the overall mission of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

1986-1987: DZAF

DWDD was established on July 10, 1986, as DZAF under the Ministry Order Number a-092. It began broadcasting on September 1, 1986, with 10 kW power from the Top Floor of the former 6th Brigade Headquarters. Despite its success, in August 1987, DZAF ceased its operations due to the exploitation by certain sectors in the military.
