==Background==
The music video either takes place on a railroad track or on a train. When shown on the train, a few members are shown other things besides playing their instrument, such as Blades celebrating his birthday alone and shoving his birthday cake into the camera, Fitzgerald drinking and intentionally spilling his wine, and Keagy looking at and burning up a grey-scale photo of what seems to be his girlfriend or ex-girlfriend. The video ends with Watson's [[Gibson Les Paul]] laying on the tracks.
Singer Jack Blades was thinking about a hypothetical relationship that is "fun and happy" until one person confesses they love the other, at which point tension begins. He wrote the chorus first, followed by a few verses. He didn't think he had written enough lyrics, but his producer convinced him he had conveyed the message of the song sufficiently in those few words.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/jack-blades-of-night-ranger-and-damn-yankees|title=Jack Blades of Night Ranger and Damn Yankees : Songwriter Interviews |last=Ortega|first=Shawna|website= Songfacts|date=March 15, 2010 |accessdate=August 6, 2021}}</ref>
