After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Kahak County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with [[Kahak, Qom|Kahak]] as its capital and only city.<ref name="Jafarabad and Kahak Counties"/>

Fordo (Persian: فردو; Persian pronunciation: [foɾˈdow] oder [foɾˈdo])[a] is a village in Fordo Rural District of Fordo District, Kahak County, Qom province, Iran, serving as capital of the district.[4] It is near the Shia holy city of Qom.[5][6]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 732 in 230 households, when it was in the former Nofel Loshato District of Qom County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 667 people in 227 households.[8] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 839 people in 303 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Kahak County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Kahak as its capital and only city.[4]
