Oak Ridge is located in eastern Cooke County at 33°38′55″N 97°2′26″W / 33.64861°N 97.04056°W / 33.64861; -97.04056 (33.648577, –97.040626),[5] along U.S. Route 82, 6 miles (10 km) east of Gainesville, the county seat, and 8 miles (13 km) west of Whitesboro.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.12 square miles (0.3 km2), all land.[4]
