Just a quick note that I undid your relinking of California in the lede of October 2023 Speaker of the United States House of Representatives election per MOS:SEAOFBLUE. Just because something could be linked doesn't mean that it should. In that case, other U.S. states were not wikilinked and there are already a large number of names, places, and titles wikilinked in close proximity. Introduction to contentious topics

You also should check the Talk archives or FAQ (if there is one) to see if the current title had been selected or affirmed by consensus. Then ask yourself whether or not there were reasons since that consensus was established that a change should be made.
