Star Woody Harrelson appeared on social news site Reddit in an online Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on February 3, 2012.<ref>{{cite web|title=I'm Woody Harrelson, AMA|url=http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/p9a1v/im_woody_harrelson_ama/|accessdate=July 4, 2012}}</ref> Hundreds of fans posted a wide range of questions, but quickly turned on the actor when he tried to steer the discussion exclusively to questions about his new movie, Rampart. Having evidently joined the session under the false premise that it would be a Q&A designed to promote his new film, Harrelson left soon after.<ref>{{cite web|title=iamwoodyharrelson|url=http://www.reddit.com/user/iamwoodyharrelson|accessdate=July 4, 2012}}</ref> To Reddit users (Redditors), the phrase ''Rampart'' has since become synonymous with shameless promotion of a commercial enterprise to which the submitting user has a direct vested interest.<ref>{{cite web|title=Woody Harrelson Reddit AMA|url=http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/woody-harrelson-reddit-ama|accessdate=July 4, 2012}}</ref>

Rampart is a drama film released in 2011. Directed by Oren Moverman and co-written by Moverman and James Ellroy, the film stars Woody Harrelson and Ice Cube.[1] [2] In the midst of the fallout from the Rampart scandal of the 1990s, dirty LAPD veteran Dave Brown is forced to face up to the consequences of his wayward career. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 10, 2011.[3][4]
