Douglas K. Ousterhout, MD, DDS, is a craniofacial surgeon with a practice in San Francisco, CA, USA. His specialty is facial feminization surgery for transsexual and transgender women,[1][2][3][4] using a combination of procedures he developed in the 1990s.[5][6][7] Though it varies for each patient, Ousterhout's approach is comprehensive of the entire face and typically includes advancing the hairline, making the forehead smaller and rounder, reducing the brow ridge, shortening and narrowing the nose, shortening the upper lip, shortening the chin, narrowing the jaw and reducing the laryngeal prominence. The procedures are often done all at once in a full day of surgery.
