One of the icons of Australia pop culture in the 70s, Captain Goodvibes (aka The Pig Of Steel) was the creation of cartoonist Tony Edwards.

Goodvibes started life as a pork chop. Accidently mutated by a chance nuclear plant explosion he became a cartoon character in Tracks (magazine). He also starred in a Sydney radio series.contest

The Goodvibes cartoons were regularly published in Australia's surfing bible Tracks (magazine), At the height of his career in the late seventies, Goodvibes had his own comic book, the fabulous 'Whole Earth Pigalogue', calendars, a movie 'Hot to Trot'and a maxi-single record 'Mutants of Modern Disco', He also starred in a Sydney radio series on Double J (now Triple J) the inimitable Captain (as voiced by Tony Edwards)
