Lilli Lewis is an American folk and Americana singer songwriter, and a classically trained vocalist and pianist. A native of Athens, Georgia, she is a New Orleans, Louisiana resident who goes by "Folk Rock Diva."

We Belong was released by her combo The Lilli Lewis Project in 2019. Downbeat Magazine wrote: “Pianist/vocalist Lilli Lewis and her group have an amiability to their sound that can’t be denied."[1] Lilli Lewis Project members are Lewis on piano and vocals, Smokey Brown on guitar, Wade Hymel on drums, Ryan Murray on percussion, Ole Oddlokken on sax and Dr. Jimbo Walsh on bass.

Lewis' My American Heart Red + Blue Digital EP was released in 2020 with the single My American Heart. The Gambit described it as "a powerful country ballad that highlights Lewis’ kind voice with soaring ease.”[2] The Grateful Web wrote: "When Lewis hits the high notes, she personifies a contemporary Jessye Norman if folk rock had been her genre."[3]

Racial Equity in Americana

Lewis has spoken out on racial equity in Americana in her role as Vice President of Louisiana Red Hot Records, covered by Rolling Stone Magazine[4] and American Songwriter.[5]

She told Nashville Scene: "Country and Americana share space with the profound legacies of entrepreneurial female artists like Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith."[6]

Special Projects

Lewis co-wrote and co-produced Mask Up! as part of Louisiana Red Hot Records' efforts for public health in the pandemic. Offbeat Magazine described the theme song behind the health-awareness campaign.[7]

A trained classical vocalist, Lewis was commissioned by Loyola University’s Opera workshop for a set of compositions, including an aria for tenor Antonio Domino "[8] [grandson of Fats Domino].
